What is Project Freaky?
A private game project with its own authentication, profiles, parties and matchmaking. Everything runs on infrastructure the project controls.
Is this site official and safe?
Project Freaky is a private fan project, not Epic Games. The only official address is https://auth.projectfreaky.dev. We never ask for your Epic Games login, your Epic password or any payment. If another link asks for those, it is not us. The full explanation is on the
Security and trust page.
Do I need to own the game?
Yes. Project Freaky does not sell or distribute the game, its files or its assets. You need your own legitimate copy of the game to play, and the project claims no ownership of any Epic Games trademark.
When does the launcher release?
Final packaging is happening now and the download opens on this site on November 27, the same day matchmaking opens. The build progress on the home page and the
launcher page is live.
How do I get an account?
Accounts are open. Use the register page with a real email, save the backup codes it shows you once, and you are set. There is no request queue anymore.
What is the auth URL?
You do not need it. The launcher has the address built in. The status page still shows it for reference.
Do I need to type the auth URL or game path?
No. The launcher is packaged with the auth address built in and finds the game itself. If you still have an old bat file that asks for paths, delete it and use the launcher from this site when it releases.
What does the exchange code do?
Your password is swapped for a one-time, short-lived code. Only that code is handed to the game, so your password never touches the game process.
I cannot connect. What should I check?
Confirm the server is online on the status page, check that the auth URL has no trailing slash, and make sure your account details are correct.
Is the live game world available yet?
Authentication, profiles, parties and matchmaking are online. The live game world is in progress and shows as coming soon on the status page.
How do backup codes work?
Every account gets a set of backup codes at sign up. Each code works exactly once. Your browser is remembered after the first sign in, so normal sign ins only need your password. A code is asked for again on a new device or a network we have never seen. Save them somewhere safe when you first see them, they are shown to you one time only. You can make a fresh set on your profile page and the old set dies immediately.
I lost my backup codes. What now?
If you still have a session open, go to your profile and generate a new set, which invalidates the old ones. If you are locked out completely, email the owner from the contact addresses on the Terms page and access can be reset for the account holder.
Why was I blocked from signing in?
Too many wrong attempts from your network address trips the security systems. The block page counts down exactly when you can try again, from a few minutes up to longer for repeats. Deliberate guessing earns longer and eventually permanent blocks.
When is the launcher out?
The launcher is being built right now and the progress bar on the home page tracks it. When it reaches one hundred percent the download goes live on this site and every player gets it from here.
Can I delete my account?
Yes, from your profile page. Deleting is permanent: sign in is disabled forever, every session ends, and the email stays reserved so nobody can later take it over and impersonate you. There is no undo.
What are the rules?
One account per person, play fair, no cheats or exploits, be decent in chat. The full list lives on the
Terms page.
What data do you keep about me?
The minimum to run the accounts: your email, your display name, hashed passwords and codes, session records and security logs. No ads, no analytics companies, nothing sold. Details on the
Privacy page.
